Teens & Young Adult Representation

Every year we have the privilege of representing some fantastic young men and women who slid across the line into criminal behavior.  These cases range from underage drinking and DUI to felony drug abuse and sexual assaults.

The great thing about representing younger clients is that the criminal justice system has a bias towards counseling and programs than jail.  Most of our client’s families have the resources to provide us the latitude to lay out a holistic course of action in representing their children. In other words, we try to look at the younger client from many different angles to try and identify the triggers of alcohol / drug use and any pre-existing behavioral, personality, or mental health issues.

We have personally interviewed dozens of treatment professionals in Columbus and facilities across the United States in the event counseling is recommended.  If the chemical dependency or mental health issues are deeply rooted, we have a working relationship with a psychologist who specializes in placing younger clients into long term programs in the United States (primarily “Second Nature”).

Many times, just the experience of being prosecuted, going to court, receiving a school suspension, suspension from athletics, and disappointing mom and dad is enough of a factor to enhance smarter decisions in life for these kids.
